What is the meaning of the "Nishmas Kol Chai "prayer for me? What are the feelings and thoughts that arise within me?
When I say the" Nishmas "prayer I connect to the infinite greatness of the Creator – so great and sublime that it is impossible to begin to describe.
When I am on the beach, I feel a sense of peace and tranquility flowing within me. The feeling of being a part of such an infinite essence evokes in me the insight that my control over the world is so minimal. I can turn to the Creator of all this beauty, Gd, to release all the worries and tensions that are stored inside me and allow God to lead me through the waves of life. It reminds me that only through constant spiritual movement, can true peace be achieved.
The sunset in my work is powerful, dramatic, and inspiring. The contrast between the energetic sky and the calm sea symbolizes the relationship between God, in all His greatness, with us, in this world. God constantly watches over us, working miracles for us that we are not even aware of. We are committed, therefore, to thank and praise the Creator of all. The work was created in part from photographs of the Red Sea in Eilat. The mountains visible from afar are the mountains of Egypt. The people of Israel witnessed the parting of the Red Sea, not far from here, and the song of the sea was recited in this environment. Although we can never thank and praise God enough for all the grace He has showered on us, we must still thank and praise God for all His grace: "If our mouth would be full of praising like the sea … it would still not be enough to thank you …"
