My work expresses three different dimensions that I feel when I think about the creation of the world.
1 – First you see a distorted world, as it is written in the Gemara, "The ones above at the bottom and the lower ones above." There are many things that happen in this world and, in our eyes, we dont always understand the reason behund it. God is the manager of his world and there are answers (sometimes hidden) to all questions.
2 – The work looks like a hourglass, because we are already at the end of the sixth millennium and towards the Geula and final redemption.
3 – The leg can also look like a Kiddush Cup. On Shabbat we all stand in Kiddush and testify that God created the world in six days.
The verse says: "Which God created to do" – why is it not written "Which God created and did"? Because God gave us the possibility and the obligation to continue to do and perfect His world.
I chose to make my project from newspapers, to remind us of the saying: "I gave you a beautiful world … Make sure that you don`t spoil and destroy my world" (regarding recycling).
